Owner note: paragraphs marked NEEDS YOUR APPROVAL contain business terms you must set yourself. Replace the bracketed text, then delete this notice and the flags. This page is a starting point, not legal advice.

1. Custom order policy

Every bust is made to order from photographs you supply. Nothing is produced in advance and no two orders are identical.

How an order proceeds

  • You choose a size and finish, complete the order form, and pay through Stripe.
  • We contact you within one business day using the contact method you selected.
  • You send three reference photographs: front, left side or three-quarter, and right side or three-quarter.
  • We review the photographs and tell you if we need different images.
  • Production begins once we have usable photographs.

Photographs we can work from

Photographs must be clear, well lit, in focus and high resolution, with the face unobstructed. We cannot work from heavy filters, low-light images, or photographs where the face is partly hidden.

Please send photos without hats, glasses, or sunglasses. We cannot include or add these accessories to your custom bust at this time. Some pieces in our gallery were made previously and do show these accessories; they do not represent options currently available on a custom order.

NEEDS YOUR APPROVAL — how long you wait for photos. [STATE WHAT HAPPENS IF A CUSTOMER NEVER SENDS PHOTOGRAPHS. For example: how many times you follow up, how long the order stays open, and whether the order is refunded, held indefinitely, or forfeited.]

Likeness

A bust is an interpretation of a person, made by hand and by machine from flat photographs. We work to capture a recognizable likeness, but a sculpture is not a copy of a photograph and small differences are part of the medium.

Timing, stage by stage

Four things happen between your order and your delivery, and they are not one clock:

  • Photo review. We contact you within one business day of your order, and check your photographs when they arrive.
  • Proof preparation. We sculpt the piece and send you a digital proof. How long this takes depends on the piece and on how quickly you reply to us.
  • Printing. 2 to 3 business days, starting from your proof approval — not from your order.
  • Transit. Usually a week or less.

These are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. If your order is for a specific occasion, ask us before you buy and we will tell you honestly whether it is realistic.

NEEDS YOUR DECISION — proof turnaround. You have given us printing and transit times, but not how long proof preparation normally takes. Nothing has been invented in its place, so the page currently says it varies. Give us a realistic range and we will state it.

Materials and finishes

[MATERIALS]. Marble, wood and black are surface finishes. They are not solid stone or solid timber, and color and texture vary slightly between pieces.

2. Cancellation and refund policy

NEEDS YOUR APPROVAL — one conflict to resolve, then a lawyer read. You told us two rules: "cancel before ship" and "no refund after proof approved." Proof approval happens before shipping, so they set two different cut-off points. The wording below uses proof approval as the point of no return, because that is when your material and machine time is committed. Confirm that is what you meant, or change it to shipping. Custom goods are also treated differently from stock goods under consumer protection rules, and those rules vary by state — have this reviewed before launch.

Refunds

[REFUND TERMS]

Damage in transit

NEEDS YOUR APPROVAL. [STATE YOUR DAMAGE POLICY: how many days a customer has to report damage, whether you require photographs of the damage and packaging, and whether you repair, replace or refund.]

Changes after ordering

NEEDS YOUR APPROVAL. [STATE WHETHER SIZE OR FINISH CAN BE CHANGED AFTER PURCHASE, up to what point, and whether a price difference is charged or refunded.]

3. Shipping policy

How you can receive your bust

  • Local pickup. Collect from us. We arrange a time once your bust is ready.
  • Local delivery. We deliver in person within 20 miles.
  • Shipping. Sent by USPS, occasionally UPS.

You choose this when you order, and it is recorded with your order. Any charge for pickup or delivery is separate from the price of the bust and is confirmed with you directly — it is not calculated on the website. Shipping charges, where they apply, are calculated by Stripe at checkout.

NEEDS YOUR DECISION — local delivery charge. Pickup is set to no charge. The local delivery charge has deliberately been left unset, so the site currently says it is confirmed with you after ordering. Give us a figure and we will show it up front.

Shipping addresses are collected by Stripe during checkout. Please check the address carefully before you pay — it is the address we ship to. If you chose pickup or local delivery, Stripe may still ask for an address; enter your own, and we will arrange the handover with you directly.

Orders ship via USPS, and occasionally UPS. Transit is usually a week or less once printing is finished. Any shipping charge, and any sales tax, is calculated by Stripe at checkout once you enter your delivery address.

We ship internationally. Customs duties, import taxes and handling fees are set by the destination country and are the customer's responsibility.

We currently ship within the United States only.

NEEDS YOUR APPROVAL. [STATE WHETHER TRACKING IS PROVIDED, whether signature is required, and what happens if a package is marked delivered but not received.]

4. Privacy policy

What we collect

  • From the order form: your name, email address, phone number, preferred contact method, product selection, chosen fulfilment method and any notes you write. The phone number is required so we have a second way to reach you about your order if email does not get through. We use it to communicate about your order only — it is not marketing consent, and we do not send marketing texts or calls.
  • From Stripe: your shipping address, billing details and payment confirmation. Stripe processes the payment; we never receive or store your card number.
  • Photographs you send us after ordering. See section 5.

How we use it

To contact you about your order, to make and ship your bust, and to keep records required for tax and accounting. We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing messages unless you ask us to.

Who else sees it

  • Netlify hosts this website and stores order form submissions.
  • Stripe processes payments and handles your card and shipping details.
  • The shipping carrier receives the delivery address.

This website loads no analytics or advertising trackers.

Your choices

Email busthub@outlook.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We may need to keep records of completed sales where the law requires it.

NEEDS YOUR APPROVAL. [ADD YOUR BUSINESS MAILING ADDRESS if you want a postal contact published: [BUSINESS MAILING ADDRESS]. Also confirm whether you must comply with state privacy laws such as the CCPA, and add the required wording if so.]

5. Photo privacy and deletion policy

Photographs of people are sensitive, and we treat them that way.

How your photographs are used

Only to design and produce the bust you ordered. Nothing else.

Who can access them

NEEDS YOUR APPROVAL. [NAME WHO HAS ACCESS — for example, only the owner, or the owner and one production assistant — and where the photos are stored, such as a password-protected device or cloud account.]

Marketing

We will not use your photographs, or images of your finished bust, in any public marketing without your explicit written permission. If we would like to feature your piece, we will ask, and no is a complete answer.

Deletion

Photographs are deleted [PHOTO RETENTION PERIOD]. You can ask us to delete them sooner, at any time, by emailing busthub@outlook.com.

Photographs of other people

If you send us a photograph of someone other than yourself, you confirm that you are entitled to share it with us for this purpose.

6. Terms of service

Ordering

Placing an order and completing payment forms an agreement between you and The Bust Hub on the terms set out on this page. Prices shown on this website are in US dollars. The amount charged is the amount shown on the Stripe checkout page.

Your responsibilities

  • Give accurate contact and shipping details.
  • Send photographs you have the right to use.
  • Respond to our photo request so your order can move forward.

What we do not accept

We may decline or refund an order at our discretion, including where the photographs are unusable, where the subject matter is unlawful, or where we cannot reasonably complete the work.

Intellectual property

You keep the rights to your photographs. The finished bust is yours. The website design, text and images on this site belong to The Bust Hub.

Limitation of liability

NEEDS YOUR APPROVAL — have a lawyer write this clause. [LIABILITY WORDING. Do not publish a limitation of liability clause that has not been reviewed by a lawyer in your state.]

Governing law

NEEDS YOUR APPROVAL. [STATE WHICH STATE'S LAW GOVERNS, and where disputes are handled.]
